Hey English 102 =) It’s a pleasure to meet you all virtually. My name is Cedly Carter. I was born on Christmas Day in Brooklyn, NY. My parents are from the Caribbean islands. I’m super outgoing and I enjoy public speaking without fear. My other professors call me an informal leader. I believe that anything you truly dedicate yourself to will come to fruition. My ultimate career goal is to become a CRNA or a Nurse Practitioner. Yes, I need to be making great money! I currently work in Labor & Delivery in a city hospital, however I’m ready to further my career in the medical field. My hobbies include dancing, singing, making music, photoshoots, acting, shopping, traveling, and eating delicious food. I enjoy listening to dancehall music, R&B, and some hip-hop music. I love cooking dishes with pasta. I think I might have been Italian in my past life. The most important thing to me is achieving my personal and professional goals, being self-sufficient, and setting myself and my children up for a prosperous future. Knowing that I have the power to change my family’s legacy means the world to me. Coming from parents who are college educated created a demand for being successful in our household. So currently, I am pursuing my degree in Registered Nursing here at LaGuardia. My major is Nursing because I have a genuine passion for helping people in need and meeting people from all across the world. I look forward to a successful semester and I wish my peers all the best in their future endeavors!
